My name is Evan Poore, and I am extremely excited to join the Transcend Training team! I am currently finishing up a degree in Exercise and Sport Science with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University, and I will be graduating in May. Involved in many sports from a young age, I’ve always held a particular appreciation of the mind-body connection and how simply moving your body can elevate your health.

I’m originally from Williamsburg, Kentucky, but I moved to Corbin, Kentucky in high school where I played football and baseball, winning one region title in football and two region titles in baseball. I played varsity all four years of high school, earning AP all-state honors in football and was named the 2022 13th region tournament MVP for baseball. Playing sports provided me with a solid foundation for understanding how the human body moves, and how much joy moving your body can bring. When I’m not working or exercising, I enjoy golfing, watching movies, and reading. While I’m not a native to Richmond, I have lived here the past four years while attending EKU and I look forward to making a positive impact on the community at Transcend.

Stepping into a gym for the first time or even the thought of starting your fitness journey can be intimidating, but I am here to bridge that gap with constant support, accountability, and someone you can trust with your goals. My experience as a rehabilitation technician in two physical therapy clinics over 4+ years has equipped me with the tools needed to help you achieve a healthier mind and body. I take pride in tailoring my approach to meet you exactly where you are. I am a big believer that the process is just as important as the result, so I will ensure you understand how the process of improving yourself can be enjoyable and not just seen as a barrier between where you are and where you want to be.

Personally, exercise has been in every facet of my life for as long as I can remember. What started as playing catch with my dad in my backyard has evolved into a personal promise to myself that exercise is vital to my long-term health, both mentally and physically. Many people starting their fitness journey’s view time in the gym as a requirement, and my goal is to help you realize that exercising is a privilege and an outlet from the many demands’ life throws at us.

As my journey to be a physical therapist continues, my mission at Transcend Training is to be seen as more than just your personal trainer. I want to be a partner in your long-term goals. I am eager to meet the members of this community, and my excitement for this next chapter of my life cannot be understated. Whether we are working toward a specific performance goal or simply building a better lifestyle, I look forward to celebrating every accomplishment with you. Goals left on the pillow are just dreams. What better time to take control of your life than now!
